Reading has lead me to appreciate it as a literacy discourse. I remember the first time I learned to read like it was yesterday. I was young, determined, literacy narrative essay on reading and writing, and anxious to learn because no one in my household wanted to read to me. On a normal day I would pace around my house like a young lioness preying on the weak, to force my family members from hiding and attack them with massive books.

My first victim was my mother who occasionally read to me, but most of the time she was an unreliable candidate. After the fatal rejection from her, I shifted to the young student, my cousin, who was in high school at the time and I was around six years old.

Whenever I needed help with math homework or an literacy narrative essay on reading and writing I was sent to the young student, yet to my dismay she terribly failed me. After I wasted my time with her it was off to my grandmother, literacy narrative essay on reading and writing, the easiest victim of them all. Progressively I excelled in my reading performance by becoming the next young Einstein, perhaps not Einstein but I was improving. Eventually reading challenged my literacy narrative essay on reading and writing and I started reading more and more books because my teacher handed out a paper every week for book reading and whoever read the most books one prizes.

My reading skills improved and I was reading at a higher reading level than most students in my grade level. I would go home everyday with a new book and come back to school with a new reflection. The reflections helped me improve my writing skills because each time I would hand in my paper a comment would be left on it from the teacher on what can be improved.

Reading lead me to writing and writing introduced me to music. Through the practice of reading I was capable of differentiating between the sounds of music rhythms without having to study or practice. When I would read to myself out loud I would listen to the rhythm of the word and stretch out each syllable to understand the tone of the word and with music I was capable of doing the same thing. For example, in middle school I decided to join the violin program.

I found myself capable of being able to play without having to practice, I was a natural. From there I was able to pick up on learning the notes quickly because of my determination from reading on my own with books. The music notes became simple enough for my thoughts to pick up onliteracy narrative essay on reading and writing, so I then decided to write a song for myself using my skills of reading and writing from my experiences.

Song writing was easy because I would sync with the rhythm from the instrument and just reflect on it in the same way I would if I was reflecting on a book I read. Reading became my outlet to connecting with multiple ways of speaking, through listening, and playing chords, and frequencies, writing reflections and songs, and reading everyday. Reading was one path that lead me to many paths. It lead me to playing the flute, the acoustic guitar, and the drums attempts and introduced me to having a knack for valuing good music at a young age.
